The US-based Foundation for International Community Assistance (FINCA International) recently announced that it will offer microloans for retailers of “off-grid solar systems” serving African households with low incomes and no access to electricity. The goal is to reach 1.5 million individuals per year through 2019. FINCA has total assets of USD 1.3
billion and serves 1.8 million clients through subsidiaries in 23 countries.
